Frequently Asked Questions
About Roll for Prep
Q: What is Roll for Prep?
A: Roll for Prep is a resource hub for Game Masters (GMs) running Pathfinder 2e, Dungeons & Dragons, and other TTRPG campaigns. We provide encounters, NPCs, worldbuilding tools, and GM advice. We design with the intent to save on prep time and keep games running smoothly.
Q: Who is Roll for Prep for?
A: Primarily for GMs, but players looking for creative character backstories, side quests, or homebrew content will also find valuable resources. If you are a player, maybe this could be your first step toward running your own one shot!
Content & Products
Q: What kind of content do you offer?
A: Our content includes:
Encounter ideas for Pathfinder 2e, D&D 5e, and other TTRPGs.
Pre-built NPCs with personalities, backgrounds, and plot hooks.
Worldbuilding prompts and tools.
GM tips, campaign management strategies, and session prep advice.
Q: Is your content system-specific?
A: We aim to keep as much of our content system agnostic as possible. Sometimes we will give system specific advice or content in which case it will primarily be for Pathfinder 2e or D&D 5e. When we do so, we will call it out as such and aim to present it in a way that it can be tailored to other systems with minimal changes.
Q: Will you offer physical products?
A: Yes! We’re working on printable map packs, GM screen inserts, and other tabletop aids that will be available via Etsy and DriveThruRPG.
Usage & Licensing
Q: Can I use your content in my streamed or recorded games?
A: Absolutely! Credit to Roll for Prep is appreciated but not required. We just ask that you do not resell, distribute, or market any of our content as your own.
Q: Can I modify your encounters or NPCs?
A: Of course! Our content is meant to be a springboard for your creativity. Feel free to adjust to suit your table.
Community & Support
Q: Do you take requests for custom content?
A: Yes. While we can’t promise every request will be fulfilled, we love hearing what GMs need help with. You can submit requests through our contact page.
Q: Do you have a Patreon or membership program?
A: Soon! We’re building a membership option with exclusive encounters, early access content, and behind-the-scenes development notes. We don’t want to release this as an option until we feel confident there is enough value for our potential subscribers.
